To Pass The Flounder Level, The Child MUST:

 

  1. be a happy swimmer (no crying) in and under water.

  2. enter and exit the pool safely.
  3. blow bubbles with his or head fully submerged.

To Pass The Pollywog Level, The Child MUST:

 

  1. do 5 rhythmic popcorns.

  2. initiate his/her own swimming.
  3. float on his/her back Independently for the count of 5.
  4. swim independently with eyes down and splashy kickers from the island to the steps at least 8 feet & regain balance alone.
  5. do an independent Froggy dive with chin down to chest.
  6. rollover onto his/her back (from a jumping or swimming position) without help.
  7. jump in and swim back to the wall without help.

To Pass The Goldfish Level, The Child MUST:

 

  1. do an INDEPENDENT kick glide for 8 ft. with eyes down and splashy kickers.

  2. swim the width of the pool independently.
  3. swim 4 arms with eyes down and splashy kickers, take a breath on his or her own, and swim another 4 arms with eyes down and splashy kickers.
  4. kickboard the width of the pool (with breaths if necessary).
  5. jump in swim 4 arms w/eyes down & splashy kicks, roll to backfloat for count of 5, swim 4 arms as above
  6. fin and kick pool width with help.

To Pass The Bluegill Level, The Child MUST:

  1. swim an independent kickglide with eyes down and splashy kickers ½ the length of the pool taking a breath after every count of 4.
  2. swim ¾ pool length independently with BIG arms, eyes down, splashy kickers, and breaths on own.
  3. deep water jump, swim 4 BIG arms, rollover and float for 15 seconds.
  4. independently pick up two rings at 4-5’ deep, and swim to the wall.
  5. fin and kick on back for ½ of the pool length without help.

To Pass The Dolphin Level, The Child MUST:

  1. perform 5 independent bobs
  2. swim crawl stroke with side breathing 1 pool length
  3. fin and kick on back independently the length of the pool.
  4. independently retrieve 2 rings spread apart at 4-5 ft. depth, surface, and swim back to wall.
  5. jump into deep water, back float for 5 seconds, swim to closest wall using crawl stroke
  6. tread water for 30 seconds

To Pass The Catfish Level, The Child MUST: 

  1. perform 8 independent bobs.
  2. swim freestyle 2 lengths of the pool independently.
  3. be able to swim elementary backstroke 2 pool lengths.
  4. fin and kick on back 2 pool lengths independently.
  5. independently pick up 2-3 rings in the deep end and swim back to the wall.
  6. jump in deep water, back float for 10 seconds, swim to the closest wall with freestyle.
  7. tread water for 45 seconds.

  5. retrieve 2 rings spread apart in deep end, tread for 30 sec.
  6. jump in deep water, back float 10 sec, swim to furthest wall using freestyle.
  7. tread water for 1 min.

  5. independently pick up 3-4 rings spread apart in deep end, swim to furthest wall with freestyle.
  6. tread water for 90 seconds

  4. swim breaststroke 2 pool lengths in GREAT form.
  5. swim sidestroke 2 pool lengths independently.
  6. tread water for 2 minutes.

  3. swim racing backstroke 8 pool lengths in GREAT form.
  4. swim breaststroke 8 pool lengths in GREAT form.
  5. swim sidestroke 8 pool lengths in GREAT form.
  6. swim butterfly 4 pool lengths in GREAT form.
  7. tread water for 3 minutes.
